neatComponents > Creating sites > Tutorials > Layout Manager > Navigation NavigationNavigation is an inherent characteristic of all websites built with the neatComponents system. The 'pages view' of the Layout Manager holds the structure of the site. The Zones of the Layout Editor allow the website designer to control the display of the Navigation.
The default display of Navigation will be a simple line or column of text links. The display is controled through the Navigation Editor which is accessed from the Layout Manager. In the example (see right) the navigation is set to be 'horizontal, with a space either side of a '|' symbol as the divider. The result is shown in blue.
Websites in the real-world need a more sophisticated treatment of navigation than the default provided by the system.
To illustrate how to configure Navigation to look the way you want it to let us look at a couple of examples, based on the preconfigured website that comes with a CMSsites package.
